KIllin It Good Sport Fishing Charters, LLC Deep Sea Fishing team of Cape Cod brings the audience one of the best fishing reports yet. After a hard day of commercial striper fishing and no keeper fish it was decided to run out east of Chatham to try some cod fishing to fill the freezer for the winter, but what we found was truly amazing. Whale feeding, mackerel larger then any mackerel I have ever seen in our waters, so many sand eels the sounder was reading a false bottom. The Killin It Good Charter team knew that there was Bluefin tuna around but had one problem, no tuna gear on board. A great thing about having friends on the water with one call to the Shocker we were fishing with in the hour with the waters looking like a aquarium of fish species.
After setting out two baits at 100 feet and 75 feet, we set our tuna drift and started to fish for the elusive giant blue fin tuna and well lets say it was worth it. Within 1 hour of fishing we landed a 450 lb 101 inch blue fin tuna with a fight time of 47 minutes, then the killin it good’s team tail roped the giant and the tuna was swimming behind the boat.
On Thursday, August 10th 2017 the charter team caught 1 fish and lost another fish. The team saw over 10 fish caught within 3 hours of fishing.
Friday August 11th was a shark fishing day on the ledge with only 1 pulled hook on a tuna and 12 blue sharks. The Deep Sea fishing team thought this was the end of the tuna bite, but was wrong when on Monday August 14 again landed a 85 inch 310 lb fish., With the Giant Blue Fin Tuna Deep Sea Fishing Charter a tuna can be a catch of a life time and a moment that will never be forgotten. With the commercial season coming to a closure for a few weeks, Captain E. J. believes Cape Cod Bay tuna fishing in September/October of 2017 will be like last year and full of giant tuna.
