Killin It Good’s Sport Fishing Charter team of Cape Cod Massachusetts has not given up on the 2017 deep sea fishing adventures just yet. There is still plenty of time in October and early November to get out on the waters to hunt for these wonderful fish. With the commercial blue fin tuna season closed there is a great opportunity to go out and fish for these giants for catch and release opportunities. Here on the Killin It Good Sport Fishing Charter team of Cape Cod had a great day on the water on 10/11/2017. With a slight wind out of the north east we decided to go blue fishing which turned into a great commercial day on the water. First we set out for Pogies that were easily snagged in stage harbor of Chatham, MA. With just under hours with the fishing action so hot we ended with 200 lbs of pogies that we will freeze for our next shark fishing trip. After this with the cut south side of Chatham harbor, we decided to head east to try our luck at stand up catch and release giant blue fin tuna fishing where we hooked up to a monster blue fin tuna 17 miles east of Chatham lighthouse which we fought on 170 lb seagaur premier for 3 hours until we chaffed off our 10/0 owner demon circle hook. The Killin It Good Charter team believed the fish was in the 100 inch range before the hook and line chaffed off. With our fishing team gassed from the intense fight with the giant blue fin we decide to make some money commercial fishing for mackerel to try and pay for our fuel bill. This also was a success as we loaded the boat with 300 lbs of mackerel and headed inside to do some blue fishing which our fishing charter team only 200 lbs of blues but would have made for an unbelievable cape cod sport fishing charter as the bass were there and were thick as we all must have caught 10 striped bass and release 9 as we all kept 1 for a great meal.
Unfortunately, living up here in New England when is comes to Sport Fishing our season of hot summer days with minimal wind are short with only really 3-4 months of great weather. (June – September). The Killin It Good Sport Fishing Charters of Cape Cod MA is still chartering right up through October 31 and will look at the weather patterns to see what November will bring. If you are interested in a charter and a deep sea fishing adventure please call or inquire though our website and we will get back to you.
